Course content
1. Environmental Law - historical and societal context of evolution of legal regulation in the world and in the Czech Republic, the role of law in environmental protection, the object, sources, constitutional basis and principles of environmental law 2. Environmental legal instruments, legal liability within the environmental protection, organization of environmental protection in the Czech Republic, Act on the environment 3. International environmental law, European Community environmental law 4. Land-use planning as a means of environmental protection 5. Environmental impact assessment, integrated pollution prevention and control 6. Right to information about the environment, public participation in environmental protection 7. Air protection (including the ozone layer protection and protection of the Earth's climate system) 8. Water protection 9. Soil and forest protection 10. Nature and landscape protection 11. Protection of flora and fauna 12. Waste and packaging management 13. Legal regulation concerning some special sources of endangerment - chemicals, industrial accidents, ionizing radiation, genetically modified organisms, natural disasters

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to instruments for environmental protection provided for in the national law of the Czech Republic, attention is being paid to the European and international context.
Ability of orientation in the environmental law of the CR and within the context of the Czech system of law. Mastering of the basic legal terms - general and particular. The basics of the interpretation of law and the basics of applications of precipts of law.
