Course content
Contents: 1) Introduction - introduction to the program of lectures and seminars, recommended literature, the system of work in seminars and requirements for course completion. 2) Introduction to the theory of education (basic concepts). 3) Establishment and the beginnings of education. 4) Training and education in ancient Greece and Rome. 5) The concept of man in Greek philosophy. 6) Medieval Education and school. 7) People in medieval Christian thought. 8) People in modern thinking. 9) Teaching thinking of the 17th and 18th centuries. 10) Philosophy of Education in the 19th century. 11) Philosophy of Education in the 20th century. 12) Czech philosophy of education. 13) Patterns of humanity. 14) Credit test.

Learning outcomes
The course follows in its construction of the basic themes of philosophy of education as a science of transcendental cultivation of human personality through the educational process. Discussed the issue of the nature of the human being, his position in the world and questions his inner emotional and moral life, depending on the capabilities of its formation in the process of education. The course also seeks to show how the course of history jumped around attitudes to the education of man in relation to social, economic and political context of the time. The point is that students at their own reflection to understand themselves so they can look better question who is the man, but also to understand the context of contemporary life, a man who asks questions like: what kind of world we live in, what values we recognize and prefer, in what one believes to understand your options and where he wants to lead and shape itself in the educational process.
Students are familiar with the basic concepts and philosophy of education in the general trend of thinking about the education of man. Can individually reflect on and analyze current issues and education. Controls the basic philosophical approaches that have shaped the educational reality. Students also created based on a critical evaluation of educational reality new or alternative methods and approaches to solving contemporary problems of education. Student controls sufficient range of incentives, exposure, fixation and evaluation procedures, creates opportunities for application of learned in practical situations. They are prerequisites for any successful communication with wards manifesting interested in this issue.
