Course content
Lecture topics: Psychological issue of illnesses, relations psychosomatical and somatopsychological, autoplasty picture of illnesses. Experiencing the illness in time, patient's relation to illness and catgory of patients from psychological view. Psychological issue of hospitalization, iatrogenic disorder, sororigens amd egrotogeny. Professional deformation, danger of burn out syndrom uprise. Stress. Psychology of pain, anxiety, fear and sense of inferiority. Nurse's productive and non productive behaviour, medical staff as a patient, psychotherapy in nurse's work. Types of handicape and psychological approach to clients. Special approach to clients at particular departments - internal, surgical, gynecological and neurological. Dying and the death from the psychology point of view.

Learning outcomes
The subject as a part of the subject "Psychology" acquaints with the problems of medical psychology. It deepens the knowledge that is important for a professional command of demanding situations in the care about individual needs of ill, handicapped and dying people, and also for a preservation of mental maintenance of a person who provides the care and helps the victim.
Students deepen their knowledges, which are important for professional encompassment of difficult situations in taking care of the individaul patients' needs, handicaped and dying one, and also for keeping mental balance of carer individuals.
Prerequisites
Achievement of General Psychology I., II., Developement psychology I., II. and Scial Psychology requirements.
