Course content
Lecture topics: objects of social psychology, social substance of personality, socialization in personal and professional way. Social groups and their influence to individuals (types of groups, group standards and values). Social perception and interaction, issues of male and female equality. Social adaptation, adaptation gadgetry, adaptation disorders. Conflict and its role, status and its managing. Types of professional groups, professional adaptation and deformation. Social perception, interaction, medical staff as a personality in professional social group. Adaptation in ballast situation, adaptation and maladaptation behavour in hard situations.

Learning outcomes
The subject is a part of a subject complex in psychology. It gives the basic knowledge in social psychology that may be applied in nursing. It allows students to have a good sense of direction in theoretical basics of social psychology, to acquire a survey of mistakes in perception of themselves and others, to understand the concepts of self-recognition and self-image. It enables students to apply the knowledge in a professional social group and to be able to use it in social subjective and professional behaviour and to understand changes in social behaviour and to react to them in an adequate way.
Students obtain basic knowledges from social psychology aplicated at nursing. They will be orientated at theoretical bases of social psychology. They gain summary about errors in perception of themselves and of others. They will understand to terms of introspection and self evaluation. They will be able to apply findings in professional social group and to be able to use them in social behaviour of personal and vocational and understand to changes in social behaviour of ill clients and react to them in adequte way.
