Course content
Introduction to medicine microbiology. Microorganism morphology, taxonomy, metabolism. Microscopic technics, material collection. Human body microflora, realtion between microbs and host. Epidemiology, statistic methods, process of infection preading. Principles of fighting against infectious illnesses. Antibiotics and chemotherapy. Immunity, immunity system diseases. Serology examination methods. Respiratory and digestive system infections. Antropozoonosis, veneric infections. Preventive medicine, public medicine, programs for health support, health determinants, quality of life. Nutrition hygiene, balanced alimentation structure Extraneous substances Seminar topics: 1.substances consumption and basic types of colouring 2.Microscopic techniques 3. cultivating medium and solutions 4.serological exmination methods 5. Personal protective tools

Learning activities and teaching methods
Learning outcomes
The subject Medical Microbiology deals with the study of micro-organisms, parasites of microscopic fungi in relation to human infectious diseases, their origin, course, laboratory diagnostics and therapy possibilities. The subject Epidemiology deals with the questions of spreading of infectious agents - the source of infection cause, transmission possibilities and spread to a sensitive host. It is further focused on epidemiological restrictions leading to suppressing these diseases. The subject Immunology is about the human immunity system, its structure, function and importance to the organism defensiveness against infections. The subject Hygiene informs about the basic terms of healthy lifestyle, living and working conditions, nourishment hygiene and hygiene of sanitary facilities.
Studen ts understand possition of hygiene in human health science system . They know organisation and tasks of hygiene institutions and thier function in practice. They understand to basic epidemiology work. They understand to importance of agains epidemiology procuration in medical practice.
