Course content
Lecture topics: Introduction to subject and its mutual relations. Microorganism properties and macroorganism determinating thier reciprocal affinity (pathogenity, virulence, pathogenity instruments). Microflora of human body, summary of the most important pathogens. Disinfection, sterilization, antibiotics. Basics of general epidemiology - source, the ways of transmision, perceptive individuals, focus of infection. Vaccinations and vaccinations scheme. Fulmination of bioterorism. Basics hygiene, hospital hygiene in picture of new legislations.

Learning outcomes
The subject is outlined as a thematic unit giving a basic structure of the knowledge in hygiene, microbiology and epidemiology that is followed by further knowledge in nursing. The subject is first of all focused on a health support and protection, prevention of diseases and their complications.
Students are acquainted to basic finding from hygiene, microbiology, and epidemiology, connected to other knowledges from nursing. They learn to fundamentals of health protection and precaution of illness creation and their complication.
