Learning outcomes
The course of geography is a follow-up to the geography knowledge gained at the secondary school. The main aim of the lectures is to illustrate the possibilities of geographical point of view in the research of landscape and to expound the essence of geographical cogitation through the examples of the world`s global problems. The particular lectures are concentrated on deepening knowledge and terms of physical geography and human geography which are used universally in the area of environment. A special attention is focused on the explanation of the substance of global problems in their complexity, and also on their present interconnection. The course does not substitute other disciplines of science which are taught as independent subjects (geology, cartography, meteorology, climatology, GIS and other).
