Course content
We take into account the similarity of topics with the discipline of History of state and law, which is taught according to the curriculum at the same time, and so constitutional and legal matters are mentioned only partially at the lectures. We will focus on presentation of administration institutions as guarantees of written documents and we will emphasise the importance of the discipline for historical heuristics. The aim of the lectures is to explain the importance of the subject and to enable students to work with academic literature. The topic is divided into classes in which we will study mostly political administration in chronological order.

Learning outcomes
History of administration presented in lectures give students information about organisation of public administration ( with the special emphasis on political administration) in the territory of the Czech state in the interval from the Middle Ages up to present days. Students will be given information about institutions of public administration along with information about preservation and archive deposition of their written production. This is important not only for understanding to their organisation and functioning but also for systematic historical study in general.
Due to only one-term period when the discipline is lectured students cannot get detailed knowledge of Czech and Czechoslovak history of administration in its full range. The objective of the course is to show the importance of the discipline for practical activities for which students are qualified later, after completing follow-up study ( AHS and Building History). Besides students should acquire basic knowledge for further individual study of the discipline. Even in case that they complete bachelor degree they are competent to understand main issues of the history of administration and they should be able to apply their knowledge in their profession.
