Course content
1. Development discipline geography cities, context social geography, object and study 2. Town, town life, development and territorial growth cities, urban pattern 3. Chronognosis, perception town environment and mental (subjective) picture (map, portrait) cities 4. Development internal structure cities, territorial and administrative comprehensive zoning, morphology cities and physical state building 5. Functional space matrix structure cities, typology, organization town premises, hierarchy metric centre 6. Social space matrix structure cities, social environmentalism 7. Metamorphoses cubic structure postsocialistic cities, influence transformation process, revitalization, commercialization, gentrifikation town centre. 8. Product differentiation development, commercial and residence suburbanization. 9. Long-term and last development provincial settlement in Europe and in CR 10. Typology provincial premises, national and European policy in face of the country prospectuses renewal village 11. Stage or sorts under development cities and settlement. Urbanization, suburbanization, contraurbanization, reurbanization, agglomeration, mega-town, spread city 12. Actual development in country developing, socialistic and postsocialistic, mature (western) country

Learning activities and teaching methods
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to present the main geographical knowledge about the interdisciplinary problematics of urban and rural space. The topics of particular lessons aime at understanding of long-development formation of urban-rural dichotomy, its causes and consequences, as well as at discussion of development of rural and urban space in the era of transformation of society. The main stess is put on the past, present and future of urban and rural space in Czechia, nevertheless the basis of the course is to understand to the general development processes.
