Learning outcomes
These courses acquaint the students with the history of modern and postmodern art from the second half of the 19th century to the 1990's. In the courses, the students get a chronological overview of avant-gardes and movements from impressionism up to the latest tendencies in visual art. After constituting knowledge of the early phase of modernism, special attention is devoted to constructivism, gestic abstraction, informel, pop-art, new realism, op-art, new realism, kinetic art, action art, minimal-art, and conceptual art. At the end, as part of a postmodern analysis, the course comes to multimedia projections and electronic art. The aim of the course is to show the multifariousness of the 20th-century art, and to make students analyze individual periods in contexts, see contemporary art as a logical and natural outcome of social, cultural, and political aspects of the epoch.
The gained capabilities constitute an encompassment and an aquirement of knowledge and experience in the given field of study, they result from a concrete annotation of the subject and are aimed at a profile´s fulfilment of the graduate of the given field of study.
