Learning outcomes
This course will provide students with the opportunity to develop the skills of reading and understanding English sociological texts. If needed, then a part of the course will be devoted to revision of selected grammatical structures. By introducing English sociological texts as relevant material for the Social Work study programme, analyzing and summarizing the content of these texts, students´ understanding ability will be developed.
At the end of this course the student will be able to: -demonstrate the ability to read and understand English written articles; -analyse and summarise the content of these articles; -get involved in the debate on a specific subject; -work out a presentation on a selected subject; -demonstrate the ability to present a selected topic in a short and concise form; -use the revised grammatical items with a greater accuracy; incorporated into their oral and written performance.
Passing the 6UAJ course recommended.

Assessment methods and criteria
Working out Power-Point prezentations on given topics, 75% attendance, passing grammar tests, passing tests on the covered topics.
