Course content
1. Development of media impact. 2. Regulation and autoregulation of media. 3. Economical and political influences in media. 4. Stereotypes in media contents (advertisement). 5. Methods of advertisement persuasion. 6. Archetypes in media contents (reporting). 7. Manipulating with public opinion and propaganda. 8. Influence of electronical media on social behaviour. 9. Theory of reality social construction. 10. Pseudoevent. 11. Qualitative content analysis - practical exercise. 12. Quantitative content analysis - practical exercise. 13. - 14. Reflection of student´s homeworks.

Learning outcomes
This course leads students to basic orientation in methods of analysis in case of media contents according to selected current media-scientific an sociological theories. Purpose of this course is introducing of these theories and methods and offer students reliable instruments for interpretation of selected media contents. Students formulate questions for searching connections between effectiveness of media and social change, under influence of media on public communication. They speculate over topics: freedom of speaking and censorship, regulation of media, role of reporter, persuation, propaganda. With accent on training of critical analysis and individual interpretation of media contents.
