Course content
1. Morphology of procaryotic cell. 2. Structure of procaryotic cell. 3. Principles of taxonomy and classification of Procaryotes. 4. Physiology and biochemistry of procaryotic cell. 5. Genetics of procaryotic cell. 6. Ecology of Procaryotes. 7. Principles of taxonomy and classification of viruses. 8. Genetics of viruses. 9. Infection process. Strategies of viral reproduction. 10. Biotechnologies based on microbial biosystems. 11. Microbiology applied in agriculture and industry. 12. Microbiology applied in veterinary and human medicine. 13. Infectious diseases. 14. Essential epidemiology.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide information on morphology, classification, taxonomy, ecology, physiology, and genetics of the bakteria and viruses. Selected topics of applied mikrobiology are also discussed. Laboratory exercising of the common microbiological methods are included, too.
