Course content
1. Cloning of genomic DNA fragment into plasmid DNA, transformation of E. Coli - Restriction of plasmid DNA and electrophoresis of fragments, ligation with isolated fragment of DNA, preparation of competent cells of E. Coli, transformation of bacterial cells, identification of recombinant colonies, isolation of plasmid and restriction analysis. 2. Electrophoresis of proteins in the polyacrylamide gel (SDS-PAGE) 3. Detection of proteins by immunoblotting methods 4. Marking of nucleic acids, hybridization with fluorescent probes

The main goal of the course is to provide students basic skils in advanced methods in molecular biology. Students will practice isolation, purification, characterization and hybridization of DNA and chosen PCR techniques.
