Learning outcomes
The course is focused on the issues of socialization of contemporary visual arts. This sphere of working with an artwork is a key area in the process of communication between the current society and visual arts. Arts socialization takes place by means of a complex of sometimes seemingly contrary movements, including projecting social issues into the contents of artefacts, production of artefacts, gallery work, establishing dynamic forms of presentation of artefacts, and last, but not least, art-theoretic analysis of artefacts. The sphere of arts socialization will be examined from theoretical viewpoints, but at the same time, the course will focus on acquiring practical approaches and skills necessary for organizing presentations of contemporary visual arts. Thematic areas: - Forms of contemporary visual arts - Process of establishing contents of a contemporary artwork - Contemporary visual arts and current society - Who and how contemporary visual arts communicate with - Author - the producer of an artwork - Space to present contemporary visual arts - Curator - the distributor of current visual arts
